Dale Swarts began his career working with advanced manufacturing materials in aerospace. Using that knowledge, he joined an orthopedic implant manufacturer and was involved in one of the earliest devices manufactured with AM to receive FDA 510(k) clearance. He shares some history and what’s he anticipates in the future, including little subtractive processes and patient-specific devices.
