EOS has developed FDR (Fine Detail Resolution) technology for its polymer systems to enhance customers’ ability to 3D print parts with fine details. Fabian Krauss, Head of Polymer Systems at EOS, explains how their new machine, the FORMIGA P 110 FDR, uses a CO laser with a focus diameter twice as small as existing Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technologies, and what that means for printing fine surfaces.
Topics include:
- How its different light engine allows for reaching smaller spot size leading to finer resolution and higher details.
- Surface quality and accuracy: Running 40-micron layers and dimensional accuracy down to 50-microns.
- Which industries and applications the P1 machine can be used for.
- Roadmap to the larger P5 system, which will focus on scaling industry.
