AdditiveManufacturing.com is powered by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). ASME has longstanding expertise in the areas of general mechanical design standards and is in the process of developing standards that provide rules, guidance, and examples of the design, manufacture, and quality assurance of additively manufactured parts.
ASME has several activities related to Additive Manufacturing Standards Development already, including a subcommittee on Additive Manufacturing within the Manufacturing and Advanced Manufacturing Standards Committee, as well as working groups focused on Nonmetallic Materials, Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE), Power and Energy, and Design for Metal AM.
