The USPTO will host an Additive Manufacturing Partnership Meeting on April 9th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Alexandria campus.
USPTO Additive Manufacturing Partnership Meeting
April 9, 2014 Alexandria, Virginia, USA
Additive manufacturing or 3D printing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital model. 3D printing is achieved using additive processes, where an object is created by laying down successive layers of material by a materials printer using digital technology. Additive manufacturing is used in the fields of jewelry, footwear, architecture, engineering and construction, automotive, aerospace, dental and medical industries, education, geographic information systems, civil engineering, and many others.
Representatives will provide an overview of the application of additive manufacturing in different technologies.
The meeting will serve as a forum for sharing ideas, experiences, and insights between individual users and the USPTO. We value our customers and the feedback provided from individual participants is important in our efforts to continuously improve the quality of our products and services. Your willing participation in this informal process is helpful in providing us with new insights and perspectives.
Individual opinions are sought from varying participants, and the meetings are intended to be informal in nature. These partnership groups are formed with full recognition of the USPTO’s responsibility under the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), and are not established as FACA compliant committees.
DATE AND LOCATION: This meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, in the Auditorium, Madison Building, Concourse Level, located at 600 Dulany Street, in Alexandria, Virginia. As more details of the partnership meeting and agenda become available, we will send them out.
