DSM Functional Materials acknowledges the April 18th ruling from the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which affirmed the District Court’s decision entering judgment and denying DSM Desotech Inc. the opportunity to present to a jury the claims that 3D Systems engaged in anticompetitive conduct.
“We’re disappointed with the ruling. However, we are still strongly committed to and passionate about stereolithography, a distinct and unique subset of 3D Printing, as well as the entire 3D printing industry at large,” says Melissa Hayes, Somos® Business Director. “We will continue to grow our Somos® business and we remain focused on innovation by bringing new materials and applications to the marketplace.”
“DSM products touch many industries and we see numerous possibilities for us to contribute to Additive Manufacturing beyond our current stereolithography activities. We will continue to explore opportunities and partnerships to create new ways to innovate and further develop Additive Manufacturing,” says Sean Dsilva, Vice President New Business Development, DSM Functional Materials.
