European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) will be hosting the annual Euro PM2014 Congress & Exhibition in Messezentrum Salzburg, Austria this year, September 21-24, 2014.
With just under three months to go before the opening ceremony, advanced preparations are fully underway for one of Europe’s dedicated Powder Metallurgy events. Being a full topic year, the Euro PM2014 conference will provide a varied technical programme of some 230 oral and poster papers, covering all aspects of Powder Metallurgy, including the Additive Manufacturing sector.

As well as the main stream technical presentations from the Structural Parts, Hard Materials, MIM and HIP sectors, and a range of EPMA Working and Sectoral Group meetings, there will be three Special Interest Seminars (SIS) to choose from and a number of factory tours to join, which aim to create discussion and interest for some of the niche sectors within the PM industry.
Building on last year’s well attended Additive Manufacturing SIS, this year’s entitled, ‘Progress in Additive Manufacturing’ will review current Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies, with a particular focus on AM-based productions and review recent market developments in this evolving sector.
The Hard Material focused SIS entitled, ‘Simulation and Modelling in Hard Materials’ will examine a range of topics associated to three dimensional modelling, simulation and evaluations within the Hard Materials sector, for cutting tool wear parts, alloys and thermal spray coatings.
The SIS for Structural PM Parts, ‘Future Trends in Automotive Drive Train Design and their Impact on the PM Industry’ will focus on automotive development trends to increase drive train performance. The session will cover how the PM industry, through innovative component design and materials, can leverage new opportunities in the automotive sector.
The Euro PM2014 Exhibition has sold very well and looks to be a productive and well attended aspect of the event. The Euro PM Exhibition, which operates in parallel to the technical sessions, will be one of the largest PM exhibitions in the world this year. The exhibition will provide the ideal place for updating of business contacts, networking and will also feature the full range of PM supply sector equipment and machinery providers for the benefit ofattending delegates and visitors alike.
2014 is a special year for the EPMA as it hails its 25th Anniversary and will celebrate during the course of the event with a commemorative reception, taking place at the Salzburg Residenz, for all attendees to enjoy.
Participants will also have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the rich history and well preserved buildings of the wonderful city of Salzburg. The Congress Dinner will take place right in the heart of the city at the Stieglkeller, a venue that offers magnificent views across the city, in the shadow of the mighty fortress Hohensalzburg.
Advanced delegate bookings for this year’s event can be taken until 14th September at www.epma.com/pm2014 after this date all registrations will need to be made onsite.
