Lübeck, December 2014—SLM Solutions Group AG, leading provider of metal based additive manufacturing technology, shared viewpoints and technical solutions focused on the innovation and trends within the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of the aviation industry at the Aviation Forum, December 9-10 in Hamburg.
The Aviation Forum is a conference with an accompanying exhibition for top management from OEMs, suppliers and airlines to network and collaborate. The IPM, in cooperation with its competency partner Airbus S.A.S., is the designer of the event.
Dr. Dieter Schwarze, Chief Scientific Officer at SLM Solutions and one of the inventors of selective laser melting, accompanied the workshop “Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) – Future perspectives for a business in transition!” Dr. Schwarze spoke about pioneering developments in additive manufacturing and the practical applications of Selective Laser Melting® in industrial production. Future perspectives and various courses of action for the aerospace industry were also addressed.
Additionally, SLM Solutions presented the SLM®125HL; an extremely economical system suitable for R&D environments as well as for small lot production areas. With regards to R&D, SLM Solutions currently works closely with renowned universities and institutes around the world.
