- Global recognition for unique Additive Manufacturing service for optics
San Francisco, February 11th, 2015 – SPIE and Photonics West announced that LUXeXceL has been selected as Prism Award winner. The LUXeXceL Printoptical Technology has been chosen as winner in the category Additive Manufacturing. Winners were announced at February 11th during the Prism Award Banquet, in San Fransisco. The Prism Award focusses on innovations in the optics and photonic industry.
President and Founder Richard van de Vrie is proud that LUXeXceL won this prestigious award “I am very excited that LUXeXceL won the Photonics Oscars. This recognition from an independent optical experts panel helps us to make people aware that our additive manufacturing process combined with an online design platform and a digital storage of lenses will bring change to the industry! Like for example I-tunes did, this will unfold the creating of cheap digital stockpiling of millions of different optics that can be manufactured superfast and tailored to the application.
Mr. Eugene Arthurs, CEO of SPIE is very delighted about LUXeXceL’s development. “LUXeXceL’s 3D Printing is ushering the future of optics manufacturing and creativity! As optical products now can be made in the additive way, there is the possibility to unleash a whole new world of application segments. It is to be expected that – with support of researchers and the industries – novel materials, products and optical functions will be invented. The 3rd industrial revolution has started and LUXeXceL takes the role in the field of the fast growing optics and photonics industries. ”
