- New, smaller metal systems to get you started with the technology, established systems for high productivity, certified quality
Cologne, Germany, March 10, 2015 – EOS, the global technology and quality leader for high-end Additive Manufacturing (AM) solutions, presents its latest developments in systems and applications at this year’s International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, Germany March 10 through 14, 2015 in Hall 4.1, Stand F 50.

The applications that will be on show include dental crowns and bridges, dental models and removable partial dentures. Martin Bullemer, business development manager medical at EOS explains: “Additive manufacturing has now become an accepted manufacturing technique in the dental industry.” He adds: “Our customers particularly appreciate the high reproducibility and constantly high quality.”
Certified quality for dentistry
The fully integrated dental solutions from EOS allow the manufacture of reproducible, high-quality dental end-products at attractive unit cost. This is supported by an integral EOS quality management to ensure product, process and service quality.
For example, the material EOS CobaltChrome SP2, used to manufacture dental crowns and bridges, is classified as a Class IIa medical material for dental applications (Directive 93/42/EEC). Materials and processes for the dental industry are developed in the ISO-certified EOS research and development centre. On request, the company provides customers with extensive consulting and support during the validation process.
Dental crowns and bridges made of EOS CobaltChrome SP2
The Additive Manufacturing of dental crowns and bridges based on Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLSTM) is a certified and registered manufacturing process that has been widely accepted on the market.
With nearly 100 installed systems and more than 5 million units manufactured worldwide each year, EOS has managed to establish itself as a market and quality leader in the dental manufacturing industry over the past years. The basic system EOSINT M 270 Dental allows the productive manufacture of up to 450 units a day at attractive costs per part.
Dental model solutions for laboratory, orthodontic and implantology applications
In close cooperation with laboratories and manufacturing services providers, EOS has also been able to optimize the development of an economical production of dental models from high-quality plastic. Apart from classic fitting models, EOS also offers solutions for the field of orthodontics and implantology. Alongside the reproducible precision, the big advantage of EOS solutions lies in the heat-resistant, sterilizable, biocompatible polymer PA2105.
EOS M 100: proven EOS quality, high cost efficiency, certified materials
EOS is also presenting the smaller EOS M 100 system for the first time at the IDS. The system will allow a perfect start of AM in the dental field based on the metal technology. With its smaller building volume and a circular, 100 mm diameter building platform, dental laboratories can now economically manufacture crowns and bridges from the certified material EOS CobaltChrome SP2 and in the familiar EOS quality. The system is equipped with a 200-watt fiber laser and guarantees high power stability as well as optimum and constant processing conditions to produce components of the highest quality. The smaller laser spot ensures an excellent detail resolution and permits the production of even the finest of dental structures.
