Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences Company, is pleased to announce a new collaboration between Somos®, a world leader in Additive Manufacturing materials, and EnvisionTEC, a world leader in 3D Printing equipment, that opens the door to new applications in the 3D Printing Industry.

EnvisionTEC unveiled its Xtreme® 3SP machine late last year at Euromold, which joined the Xede® 3SP in their large frame printing line. The 3SP® series’ proprietary Scan, Spin and Selectively Photocure technology provides for the fast 3D printing of large, high detail models with the precision and quality surface finish that EnvisionTEC is known for. EnvisionTEC is teaming up with Somos®, who has been developing game changing materials for over 25 years, to develop the next level of high performance materials designed for heat resistance, durability, high detail resolution and dimensional stability.

“Somos® consistently produces cutting edge materials for 3D Printing,” says John Hartner, Chief Operating Officer EnvisionTEC. “Working together will accelerate the possibility of producing large industrial parts with a high level of performance at much faster speeds.”

“We are very excited to be working with EnvisionTEC,” says Melissa Lutz, Business Director Somos®. “Their new 3SP® large frame machines produce parts 2 to 3 times faster than the existing industry leading equipment. We can’t wait to develop high performance materials that enable their equipment to expand into new industrial applications.”
