UPDATE: 5 August 2016 — Thank you to everyone that participated in the program in Orlando and to those who have asked to be part of the initiative. The response has been fantastic and we’re working on the next steps. We would like to ask for your help with a few items.
SURVEY: Please help prepare for the next steps by taking this short survey. Please also feel free to share this link with all colleagues interested in 3D printing applications in medicine. https://goo.gl/forms/qqgAHn3uLq4UQkQy2
VIDEOS: Videos from the presentations are now available on VuMedi: https://www.vumedi.com/search/?q=SME (NOTE: You will have to be logged in to use the link.) You can also search for SME to find a list of all relevant videos. In addition to all presentations at the May 19-20 program in Orlando, we will be adding within a few days, the RAPID MMI keynote with Robert Morrison, MD and Scott Hollister, PhD on the 3D/4D printed tracheal splint developed at the University of Michigan. Collaboration between the university and Materialise will see the device in clinical trials soon. (NOTE: The videos are also available on SME’s Medical Manufacturing Innovations YouTube playlist here: ) Please feel free to share this link with all colleagues interested in 3D printing.
GET COLLEAGUES INVOLVED: There are two ways to get colleagues involved. For each video on VuMedi, there is an option to request additional information. By completing this form, colleagues will be added to the distribution list and receive all updates and notices of activities. The initiative website: www.sme.org/3dpevidence also has an INQUIRY FORM that provides the opportunity to be added to the distribution list.
OTHER EFFORTS: The SME Medical Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing Workgroup is addressing other challenges. To learn more, visit; www.sme.org/medical-am3dp-workgroup
