formnext powered by tct has entered into cooperations with the Excellence in Production competition (which presents the Tool-Maker of the Year award) and the Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing. Through these collaborations, the conference and exhibition hopes to continue adding to its expertise and participation in current and future industry developments and research. This applies to both additive manufacturing and more conventional technologies.

on the next generation of manufacturing technologies
    Frankfurt am Main, Germany
    15-18 November 2016

    A stronger industry dialog
As a member of the Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing (ACAM), formnext is supporting the ongoing growth of the center’s surrounding community. The goal? Promoting industry-relevant research and further strengthening the sharing of ideas among the drivers of innovation in the market.

“Our cooperation with ACAM will give us a head start on the latest trends and developments,” explains Sascha F. Wenzler, Head of Division for formnext at conference organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “That in turn will enable us to align our exhibition concept accordingly and continue to fine-tune our future events.”

    Support for leading tool-making competition
The Excellence in Production competition has been recognizing the best tool-making companies in the German-speaking countries for 13 years. With this year’s award ceremony set to take place on 26 October, no fewer than 279 companies have entered to win the event’s prestigious accolades. As an Excellence in Production sponsor, formnext contributes to the competition to emphasize the central role industrial tool making plays in modern product development.

ACAM managing director Dr. Kristian Arntz sees formnext’s involvement as a real boon for his organization, as well:“For us, formnext represents the ideal partner. It has already established itself as a highly valuable international platform and an opportunity for us to engage in ongoing dialog with our industry,” Dr. Arntz reveals. “This means we can keep our ear even closer to the ground and continue to make great strides in our research.”

formnext powered by tct is scheduled to return to Frankfurt am Main on 15-18 November 2016. To learn more about the event, please visit formnext.de.

About ACAM GmbH, the Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing
ACAM was founded as a collaboration involving RWTH Aachen, the Fraunhofer Institutes for Production Technology (IPT) and Laser Technology (ILT), the FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences, and other partners from the realm of science. In ACAM GmbH, these research associates have created a platform that enables them to apply their technical resources and personnel in collaboration with industry partners like Linde, Schaeffler, Oerlikon, Voestalpine, Mitsubishi, Rolex, and Volkswagen.

    About Excellence in Production
In this competition, the machine tool laboratory WZL (part of RWTH Aachen) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) have been conferring awards on the best tool-making companies in each of the past 13 years. The 2016 edition drew 279 entrants. The 2016 Tool-Maker of the Year will be announced in the presence of some 250 guests as part of an evening gala to be held on 26 October in the coronation hall of Aachen’s town hall. The event will also be part of the 16th international “Tool and Die Making for the Future” colloquium.

    About formnext
formnext powered by tct brings exhibitors involved in additive manufacturing and more conventional industrial production technologies together with the manufacturing industry itself. Each year, the event presents the next generation of intelligent industrial manufacturing in the international exhibition hub of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. In doing so, it focuses on the efficient realization of product ideas, from their design and manufacturing to serial production. After hitting the ground running at its 2015 debut and establishing itself as a prominent international exhibition, formnext 2016 will once again showcase innovations while providing key inspiration for the future. The conference set to take place alongside the exhibition will also highlight the latest trends and issues in additive manufacturing, along with clever ways in which it can be integrated into process chains in industrial production. The conference’s content is designed by Rapidnews/tct + Personalize. formnext powered by tct is organized by Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. (formnext.com)
