    • EOS’ M 290 brings increased part quality and parameter optimization to Sintavia’s aerospace and defense customers

November 7, 2016 – EOS, the global technology and quality leader for high-end Additive Manufacturing (AM) solutions, announced that Sintavia, LLC, a leading developer of 3D metal printing solutions for the aerospace and defense and other critical industries, has acquired its M 290 machine for industrial metal part production. With a building volume of 250 x 250 x 325 mm, EOS’ M 290 provides fast, flexible and cost-effective production at scale.

“Our M 290 machine leads the industry in high-quality, repeatable and efficient part production making it a perfect addition to Sintavia’s AM line-up,” said Andy Snow, senior vice president at EOS North America. “With this partnership, Sintavia’s customers have access to a machine with proven performance from leading brands in the aerospace and defense industry and beyond.”

Several key features of M 290 made it the right choice for Sintavia.

    • Enhanced quality monitoring and evaluation: EOS PowderBed, EOSTATE Base, EOSTATE LaserMonitoring are three modules that enable quality management at the highest level during pre- and post-production.
    • Extended range of applications: Light, stainless and super-alloy metals can be used with EOS’ standardized Part Property Profiles and ParameterEditor enabling Sintavia to modify parameters to meet individual, customer requirements.
    • Optimized customer and user experience: Graphical interface and wizard guidance supports the system operator, making its use intuitive and task-based.

“With the addition of the M 290, Sintavia now boasts six machines in our state-of the art production facility, giving us pre- and post-processing capabilities rivalling tier-one OEMs,” said Brian Neff, CEO of Sintavia. “The M 290 – with its parameter optimization and its globally-recognized production quality – provides significant value to our aerospace and defense customers, and it’s within this industry that we will capitalize most on this investment.”

Sintavia’s acquisition of the EOS M 290 underscores the company’s pivot from a research and testing facility to a larger player within the Aerospace and Defense manufacturing supply chain.
