Los Angeles, Calif. – May 10, 2017 – 3Diligent announced today that it is now accepting orders for parts made using the HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 printer. The company will also provide access to metal printed parts on the Markforged Metal X printer as it becomes available on the market. The announcement expands 3Diligent’s ability to print in the market’s broadest range of additive materials and technologies.
Multi Jet Fusion technology is promoted by HP as the industry’s first production 3D Printing system. The system offers 10 times faster printing speed relative to existing technologies on certain build runs. Parts are currently offered by 3Diligent in black Nylon 12.
“HP’s entry into the 3D Printing ecosystem has been hailed by many as the moment the industry officially ‘arrived.’ We are extremely excited to be offering this technology to our customers,” said Cullen Hilkene, 3Diligent CEO. “Alongside the traditional thermoplastic options of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF), and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), it provides a new, powerful tool to create custom parts, and to do so rapidly in larger quantities.”
The Markforged Metal X is an extrusion-based system, which deposits layers of metal-infused filament like a traditional extrusion (FDM, FFF) printer. During a post-processing step in a furnace, the polymer jacket melts away and the metal remains, sintered together as a solid part. Markforged promises a wide range of materials.
“The Markforged Metal X printer is another compelling addition to the 3D Printing landscape,” said Hilkene. “It promises to offer a cost effective path to printing certain metal parts, and we are excited to add its capabilities to our range of metal printing options when it is in market.”
“We are committed to providing our customers a single service solution that allows them to access the optimal technology on the market for any given application,” said Hilkene. “The addition of these two technologies to our options – Multi Jet Fusion now and the Metal X in the coming months – are part of that commitment.”
