- A new pavilion and theater provides opportunities to experience, learn about the fast-growing technology
CHICAGO, Oct. 3, 2017 –With interest skyrocketing in one of the industry’s hottest topics, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event has added a new 3D/Additive Manufacturing Pavilion to FABTECH this year, which runs Nov. 6-9 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
The 3D/Additive Manufacturing Pavilion will feature more than 25 exhibits, and offer daily presentations, featured events and networking opportunities for attendees interested in learning more about the technology. The pavilion will be centrally located in the Grand Concourse Lobby.
“The 3D/Additive Manufacturing Pavilion came about based on the overwhelming attendee interest in the technology in recent years,” said Mark Hoper, FABTECH show co-manager and FMA SVP of Expositions and Media. “Additive Manufacturing has become a part of the manufacturing industry as a whole, so it makes sense to add it to FABTECH. We are excited about expanding our reach into this advancing industry.”
Pavilion exhibitors include 3D Systems, Cincinnati Inc., Creaform, Formlabs, Makergear, Met-L-Flo Inc., Proto Labs Inc., Raise3d Inc., Renishaw Inc. TRUMPF Inc., Ultimaker, Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, and more. The dedicated Additive Manufacturing Theater will offer featured presentations and expert panel discussions.
One featured presentation will be given by industry expert Todd Grimm, president of T.A. Grimm & Associates Inc., called “Evolution of Additive Manufacturing and What It Means for the Fabrication Industry.” Grimm’s presentation will be Tuesday morning, followed by an afternoon expert panel discussion. Moderated by Grimm, panel participants will discuss how to effectively incorporate additive manufacturing into your business.
In addition, the education program will have a complete track on 3D/Additive Manufacturing. During these educational sessions, top experts will share their knowledge of the technology with attendees.
