- New buildings will increase 3D printing capacity and accommodate growing employee numbers
Leuven, Belgium – October 5, 2017. Today Materialise NV (Nasdaq: MTLS) opens a new building at their headquarters in Leuven, following the inauguration of their new office in Poland in September. The new buildings will expand production capacity, as well as increase office space.
At the Materialise headquarters in Leuven, Belgium, the new building will not only increase production space, but will provide an additional 5,500 m² of office space for the company’s expanding workforce, allowing Materialise to continue investing in its people, and continue to empower meaningful 3D printing applications. New co-creation and partner rooms will also enable Materialise to continue building strong partnerships with customers across industries. The building will be inaugurated by Louis Tobback, the mayor of Leuven, in an evening event which will include tours around the new building.
“It makes me incredibly proud to see the continued growth and development of Materialise. From just a small room at the KU Leuven 27 years ago to two new buildings in this year, we’ll be able to meet increasing demands and further our position in the industry” says Wilfried Vancraen, CEO of Materialise
In Poland, the new building will primarily consist of increased production capacity, with space for over 80 SLS printers, making it the biggest facility of its kind in the country.
“The new facility will give us the necessary space to expand our capacity, which will make us the largest 3D printing facility in Poland. In this way, Materialise can keep growing and providing our customers with an extensive range of technologies to choose from across the world,” says Piotr Adamczewski, Managing Director of Materialise Poland
With over 150 machines in all major 3D printing technologies, Materialise’s Factory for 3D Printing is one of the largest in the world. With a growing demand for certified serial production, the early adoption of new technologies such as HP’s Multi Jet Fusion and the growth of associated brands such as RapidFit, this increased capacity will further strengthen and support the expansion of Materialise’s offering of solutions and services.
