Warrendale, PA, February 7, 2018 – SAE International announces the three keynote speakers for SAE 2018 Additive Manufacturing in Motion Symposium which will convene in the Hilton Cleveland Downtown Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio on March 13-14, 2018.
Additive Manufacturing in Motion
13-14 March 2018
Hilton Cleveland Downtown Hotel
Cleveland, Ohio USA
This event is the premier additive manufacturing event for the mobility industry. Technical experts from both automobile and aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 and 2 suppliers, as well as government and academia, will communicate needs, research, development activities, and solutions that will enable all stakeholders an opportunity to maximize the many benefits of this continually evolving technology.
Additive Manufacturing in Motion will open at 8:30 a.m. with a keynote address from Richard Grylls of SLM Solutions. Dr. Grylls’ presentation will focus on “Metal Additive Manufacturing – Disruptive and Evolutionary Technology for Transportation.” Dr. Grylls has worked in the Metal Additive Manufacturing industry for almost 20 years. He will highlight the rapid advances in the ability of metal AM to meet stringent production standards in transportation industries, and attempt to look 3-5 years into the future at the applications which will emerge, both in traditional transportation and in emerging systems.
At 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, Greg Hayes will provide our second keynote presentation. Hayes is a strategic technology development consultant with a strong background in high-end research and development, and a focus in materials science and engineering. He is currently the director of consulting and applications of EOS North America, where he works to identify market needs and uses of Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology to develop products to fulfill those opportunities.
Wednesday will open at 8:30 a.m. with “Ready For Take-Off? Advancing Additive Into Aerospace” keynote given by Paula Hay, the Executive Director for Additive Design and Manufacturing for UTC Aerospace Systems. She is responsible for advancing the use of additive across UTAS. Her presentation will look at the goals and challenges for additive and how they may be overcome as additive in aerospace becomes a reality.
