Dieburg, Germany; August 29,2018: OR LASER, now part of Coherent, will exhibit its latest advances in industrial laser additive manufacturing at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), to be held in Chicago, IL, USA (September 10-15, 2018). Highlighting the advanced nature of OR LASER’s equipment, the display will include a range of systems, most notably the CREATOR direct metal additive manufacturing machine, the CUBE for DED AM applications, and the EVO MOBILE compact laser welding system.
OR LASER’s continued focus on advancing the capabilities of the CREATOR has resulted in a refined metal powder bed additive manufacturing system. Last year, this system was expanded to incorporate hybrid subtractive capabilities. At IMTS 2018, Coherent will demonstrate the CREATOR RA. This system now includes the capability for processing reactive materials, such as titanium and aluminum.
R&D testing with reactive materials has produced some extremely encouraging results, according to R&D Manager, Markus Wolf. “We have demonstrated successful production of parts with this technology using dedicated parameters. Indeed, the first commercial system has already been installed in a research facility in Germany. Continuing with the same philosophy that has driven the development of the CREATOR series, the new RA system will offer an unprecedented cost/performance ratio, making the production of AM parts in reactive materials much more accessible to industry.”
Please visit the Coherent | OR LASER booth (236124), as well as the Coherent booth (236603), at McCormick Place. Both booths are situated in North Building, Level 3 within the Fabricating & Lasers Section of IMTS.
