New York City, NY – June 17, 2021– PrintParts Inc., a New York City-based additivemanufacturing service provider, is a proud sponsor of MakerGirl, a non-profit organization that aims to bridge the gender gap in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) by introducing young girls to 3D printing through educational programs.
In 2020, MakerGirl transitioned their sessions to a virtual curriculum and greatly increased the number of girls educated, providing 93 sessions to 566 young girls across 28 different states, and 3 additional countries. This year, MakerGirl’s goal is to double their 2020 impact and provide education to 1,000 girls completely free of charge.
“Throughout this unprecedented time, MakerGirl has been able to create virtual educational experiences that have allowed girls to continue their STEM education outside of the classroom,” says MakerGirl CEO, Mary Hadley. “During this transition to the new normal, MakerGirl will continue to grow, reach rural areas, and educate girls of all backgrounds. We are so grateful for PrintParts support to make this possible by providing scholarships for girls everywhere.”
PrintParts is honored to support this mission with their sponsorship, “The MakerGirl program is something that we are proud to support, and we hope to see more of,” says PrintParts Co-Founder and CEO, Robert Haleluk, “As a father of young daughters, and one who will be participating in the program, it’s empowering for them be exposed to STEM programs at such a young age and learn from other brilliant women.”
Along with helping guarantee every student is provided with a scholarship, PrintParts will also be sponsoring all of the print services for the summer projects. “We at PrintParts are inspired by MakerGirl’s mission to ensure education is trulyaccessible and are excited to lend our services to support this initiative,” adds Haleluk.
The MakerGirl summer program is open for registration online, find more details at makergirl.us
