ICYMI: 2023 is starting strong for the additive manufacturing community with efforts in both workforce and leadership. Several 3D printing companies announced new leadership including Carbon, Coreform, Essentium, and 6K. Both Qualified3D and BCN3D announced programs with high school supporting STEM education efforts and the additive manufacturing workforce pipeline. Kokoni and BC3D released new machines while Nexa3D announced their laser sintering platform is now available commercially. Investment was also a high priority with ADDMAN Engineering acquiring Dinsmore, IperionX winning a DoD challenge to recycle titanium scraps into powder, and the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation. 2023 promises to be an exciting year of new solutions to accelerate the use of additive manufacturing.
