    Workforce and Leadership: AM News Roundup for January 9-20, 2023

    2023 is starting strong for the additive manufacturing community with efforts in both workforce and leadership.

    ICYMI: 2023 is starting strong for the additive manufacturing community with efforts in both workforce and leadership. Several 3D printing companies announced new leadership including Carbon, Coreform, Essentium, and 6K. Both Qualified3D and BCN3D announced programs with high school supporting STEM education efforts and the additive manufacturing workforce pipeline. Kokoni and BC3D released new machines while Nexa3D announced their laser sintering platform is now available commercially. Investment was also a high priority with ADDMAN Engineering acquiring Dinsmore, IperionX winning a DoD challenge to recycle titanium scraps into powder, and the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation. 2023 promises to be an exciting year of new solutions to accelerate the use of additive manufacturing.

    OssDsign Reaches Milestone of 500 Patients Treated with OssDsign® Catalyst in the U.S.: OssDsign AB announced that 500 patients have been treated in the U.S. with the nanosynthetic bone graft, OssDsign Catalyst.     Introducing the New Generation of the BCN3D Epsilon Series: Optimized for superior performance: BCN3D Technologies introduced an upgraded version to the Epsilon Series 3D printers. A large part of elevated efficiency can be attributed to new and improved electronics. READ MORE

    Nexa3D Starts Shipping Its High-Throughput Laser Sintering Platform, the QLS 820: Nexa3D announced commercial availability of its laser sintering platform additive production system, the QLS 820 with a print speed of up to 8 liters per hour and up to 20% packing density. READ MORE

    ADDMAN expands polymer additive and quick-turn capabilities via Dinsmore acquisition: ADDMAN Engineering acquired Dinsmore & Associates, Inc..     B9Creations Partners With Local Schools to Promote STEM Education: B9Creations launched a K–12 education division with tailored service and technology offerings. Now, B9Creations is partnering with Rapid City Area Schools (RCAS) to create a path for STEM education opportunities available to the nearly 14,000 students in the area as part of a new education initiative piloted at several schools in the district.
